Nerea has always wanted to dedicate herself to a profession related to children. At first he thought of Pediatrics. After volunteering in an association in Vitoria that works with immigrant children, she hesitated between studying social work and teaching. Finally, she made up her mind: she would study to become a teacher and then special education. In Pamplona there was also a specialty in therapeutic pedagogy. So the plan was clear!
In her school there was a teacher who told her: “What a wasted mind!”, because he had an average of 9 and could aspire to many careers. But she did not hesitate: it was a question of vocation! “I like to be socially active, to feel that I contribute to society. And I think this is the way to achieve it.”
Nerea is very committed. She has also volunteered for many years on an integration basketball team for people with disabilities. It was one of the reasons why he almost stayed in Vitoria. I could not abandon them! Finally, she looked for a worthy substitute: her father, also a basketball lover and, in Nerea’s absence, the main flag bearer of the mixed ability team of Vitoria!
Nerea is pure energy. While doing her degree, she takes care of two children. “I love to innovate with them, to come up with new games, so they can learn – parents tell me they’re in for a treat with me!”
Next year he wants to go on Erasmus to a country in South America. He wants to learn about new educational systems and other cultures. She is a very adventurous and open-minded person!
In Pamplona she is happy, it is her second year and she admits that it was a little difficult at the beginning: “I missed my family. Now I am delighted. They take great care of me at the residence, it couldn’t be better! I came to this residence because several former students recommended it to me. And I have brought three other new ones!”
Nerea is a pure dynamite! She has played many sports. Basketball, above all, she has played in the National Team of Alava and now she plays in the Jesuit team of Pamplona, in the first national division! He is also part of the indoor soccer team of the resi. She has also played paddle tennis, tennis, athletics, volleyball…. He loves team sports, because of the values that are cultivated and the friendships that are forged.
It is easy to describe Nerea. She is cheerful, spontaneous, expansive, charismatic? He has a permanent smile that is both contagious and magnetic!
