Our student of the week is Ana, who delighted us with her talent, her voice and her guitar at our Christmas party in a magical family moment with the interpretation of John Lennon’s “Happy Xmas” together with other compis of the resi.
He comes from Almendralejo (Badajoz) and studies guitar at the Conservatory of Seville. He started the Bachelor of Health Sciences because he initially wanted to do Medicine, but in 2nd year he changed to “Arts” to study music, his true passion.
She has always been an excellent student and would have had the grades to enter a career in the health sciences, but she is happy with her decision. Her idea is to become a conservatory teacher, although she does not rule out becoming a high school teacher: “I think it is important that high schools have good music teachers so that students become interested in music. Although we live in a very technological age of immediacy, the arts are always there and people seek refuge from everyday life in music and other arts”. Her teaching vocation runs in her family, as both her parents are English teachers.
He likes many musical styles if they are of good quality. He loves classical music, although his favorite genre is “Metal”. He listens to more foreign music than national music and his favorite band is Radiohead.
In the future I would like to record and release my own music. Also to play again in a “Metal” band as she already did: “In the conservatory I usually play alone and doing it in a band is really cool”. As if that were not enough, he also draws and receives commissions for his own creations ranging from oil paintings to digital art.
At the beginning I was a little scared because I came with a classmate who changed her studies and city shortly after arriving, but there was a very nice group that welcomed me very well and it has been easy for me to make friends”.
She is very happy in the city. He was going to go to Madrid, but changed his mind and has no regrets: “Seville is a city that also has a great cultural offer, super nice and with a perfect size”.
