Our student of the week is Tomás, “a science kid”. He hesitated between several careers: nursing, pharmacy and psychology. In the end, he chose Pharmacy and is happy with his decision: “The career is very nice, if you like it! It is also sacrificial, because we have a lot of internships and we spend all day at the university. There are quite a few continuous assessment exams, it’s a demanding pace, but it helps you keep up with the subject matter.” In the future he sees himself working in a pharmacy, he enjoys dealing with other people. Nor does he rule out being in a laboratory, or even in industry. Everything but teaching! His mother is a teacher and he is not at all attracted to teaching!
Tomás wanted to study in Madrid, but his mother and aunt had studied in Pamplona and encouraged him to enroll in the UNAV. His sister (a former student of the resi!) also advised him: “I am very grateful to my family for recommending Pamplona to me. It is a city similar to Logroño (his hometown), very nice, and I think the adaptation would have been much more complicated in Madrid”. In the residence it didn’t take him long to make friends and that soon made him feel at home: “I’ve made great friends. In fact, we have already been in Zarauz, at Uxue’s house, or in Donosti, with Lucía. And we are making plans for this summer!”
He considers himself a very independent person and hardly comes home on weekends. He prefers to focus on his studies in Pamplona! In his free time he enjoys spending time with friends and is also passionate about movies. He is very sociable and always in a good mood! “I like to be cheerful and cheer others up.” He is approachable and always tries to listen with openness: “You can tell me anything, I never judge”. For him, it is important to forge genuine friendships. What he looks like!
