Mar, our student of the week, is another of the “mythical” veterans of the resi. She is from Vigo and her first year in Seville she continued living in Galicia because it was semipresencial by the COVID and she came only for exams, so, she entered the resi in 2nd year with Laura, another Galician.
She studies Public Relations and Advertising at the School of Communication. He was also interested in ADE and does not rule out doing so once he finishes his current career.
She is more attracted to PR and event organization than to advertising, as she does not consider herself a very creative person, but a people person: “I like to be in contact with people, I am very sociable”. She is also very charismatic; she has been one of the ones in charge of organizing the residents’ sweatshirt orders and coordinating with us for logistics. She is very integrated in the resi: “We all know each other here”. “Even if you have one group you get along with the most, I know I can ask a favor of everyone else.”
Mar is a very keen soccer player and played federated for 6 years in Alertanavia de Vigo. He is Celtiña and culé. In the 7-a-side soccer games of the men’s team of the resi it is common to see her on the sidelines giving instructions and encouraging her teammates….
She has also practiced other sports, such as squash (she participated in a Spanish Championship in her age group), tennis and paddle tennis; she is also a regular at the gym and is passionate about motors: “I’ve been riding motorcycles since I was 7 years old; my communion gift was a “Clipic” (a 50 cc motorcycle) and I competed in trial for a few years”. Mar has a brother (Juan) four years younger than her and confesses that: “I inherited my love for sports from my father, and from my mother I got the demand”.
He loves music and has his own mixing desk: “In confinement I started DJing at home and got my own equipment”. He likes all musical styles, but mainly reggaeton.
She likes the south very much, although: “As a Galician I don’t like the heat, but I think Seville is a perfect city to study, there are all kinds of people and it’s easy to adapt. I would like to know more areas of Andalusia, these days I have been in Zahara de los Atunes and I loved it”.
