Diego’s passion, our student of the week, has always been traveling. It is a hobby instilled in him by his parents, with whom he has traveled half the world: Alaska, Canada, USA, the Caribbean, Scandinavia, Central Europe, Turkey and Russia are just some of the places he has visited. Although he is from Mexico, he has also lived in Ireland and Rome. He remembers his time in Rome as “my best moments” and they were also the key to his landing in Spain. Because Diego has ended up in Pamplona a bit by chance. He did not know what to study until he met a Spanish student in Rome who told him about the International Relations program at UNAV. He found the very comprehensive program, which included stays in Washington, Shanghai and Jerusalem, as well as internships and exchanges, very attractive and a perfect fit!
Because Diego would love to go into international relations. His dream was to become a diplomat and, if he could dream it, Mexican ambassador to Spain. He is in his third year of his career and already knows, with total certainty, that his is a vocation!
But Diego is a realist. He knows that it is difficult to make his way as a diplomat and, just in case, he wants to have a plan B. That is why he has chosen some electives in the Business area. He knows that his career opens up many possibilities in the field of international trade. And you never know!
He considers himself a very restless person, with many hobbies. He loves sports, he has practiced swimming, rugby, American soccer… He is also a fan of 80’s music. And he is passionate about history and archaeology. Ah! And in Mexico he painted in oils, he had a lot of fun! He is very sociable and passionate about languages, speaks perfect English and Italian, and this year he is going to study French. He confesses that he would even like to learn Basque! Who knows, a diplomat’s career is long, he has time to learn it. You are not lacking in enthusiasm and commitment!
