Jaime, the student of the week, is our only representative from the province of Teruel. It comes from the municipality of Alcañiz in Teruel. Their study options involved two very different choices… Biology and something related to the performing arts. He is passionate about everything related to animals and also about theater. In 4th grade of ESO when he began to lean towards Biology, his parents took him to visit the Oceanogràfic in Valencia… It was a key trip to confirm that this is what he wanted to study.
Initially the idea was to do it in Valencia, but destiny wanted him to agree to Seville and he is happy. He is living our city to the fullest. Seville was a major change, and he is enjoying getting to know a culture that is new to him. “I love to stroll through the center, go for tapas and enjoy the atmosphere…”. “I was impressed by the Feria de Abril, no matter how much they tell you, until you don’t know it you don’t see the dimension it has. I was lucky enough to get to know it with Sevillian friends from the race and I enjoyed it a lot”. He still does not know the Sevillian Holy Week, but he is looking forward to it. In Alcañiz there is a lot of Easter culture as it belongs to a series of municipalities that are called the “route of the drum and the bass drum”. “It’s very beautiful and spectacular all the people in unison drumming.”
In the residence he has made great friendships. “Besides my group, there is very good fellowship with the others and we all get along well.” He also values freedom and “not feeling like I’m in a boarding school”.
Within Biology he is passionate about Zoology. He is primarily interested in species conservation research.
He has been doing theater since he was 11 years old. “The time of the week that I liked the most was the day I went to acting classes; theater has accompanied me throughout my adolescence and is something that has marked me.” He tells us that it gives him a lot of energy and that the adrenaline of being in front of the spotlight to perform in public and see people enjoy something that you have prepared with so much love is incredible.
In the future, “I don’t rule out doing an Ana Obregón, who studied biology and then went into acting”.
